Starting March 10th at the Warsaw Public Library, all books, including audio books and magazines, will no longer accrue fines for being overdue! This applies to all books checked out from the Warsaw Public Library, including books placed on hold from other member libraries. DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games, and state park/museum passes returned late will still result in a charge of $1.00 per day up to $5.00. Realia/kits returned late will accrue $.20 per day up to $5.00. Patrons will still be responsible for charges as a result of lost or damaged items.

WELCOME BACK TO THE LIBRARY!
We are open to the public, but with limited hours and available services.
Our temporary hours are as follows;
Monday and Tuesday 10-5
Wednesday and Thursday 1-6
You must be in good health to visit the library. Masks or face coverings are required for all patrons, 2 years of age and older, and must be worn at all times while in the building, covering both nose and mouth. If you are unable to medically tolerate a mask, you may not enter the building. Contact the library at 786-5650 for accommodations. We will gladly provide continued contactless curbside services to those who are uncomfortable entering the building or unable to wear a mask.
While in the building, please maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance from others. If you outside on library property, utilizing Wi-Fi, returning material to the book drop, or picking up material via curbside services, we also ask that you wear a mask, as social distancing may not always be possible due to the public nature of our facility, and you may come in close contact with others.
For the health and safety of staff and patrons, we may have to limit the amount of people in the building. We will allow only a very limited number of people in the building at a time. If we have already reached this capacity, you may be asked to wait outside until someone else leaves.
We are asking that everyone keep their visit to the library to 30 minutes or less. This includes the following available services; browsing, computer use, copy, fax, and scanning. At this time, seating, meetings, extended stays, play, and in person programming has been suspended. Visits are limited to 30 minutes, once a day.
Two of our seven public computers are available for 30 minutes of use. We are no longer providing shared headphones. You can bring your own, or purchase earbuds for $1 at the circulation desk. Please inform staff when you are done using the computer so it can be disinfected in between patrons.
All library materials must be returned in the outside book drop so that we can follow CDC-recommended quarantine procedures. Because we will quarantine all returns for at least 72 hours, returned items will not be checked in immediately. Please don’t worry if something you returned in the book drop is still on your library account – we have a grace period built in for quarantine and you will not be charged any overdue fines.
We are sad that we can’t offer in-person programs like we usually do, but we have a great lineup of virtual programs for families. Check out our Facebook page, YouTube Channel, and website for more information.

Each re-opening business must develop a written Safety Plan outlining how its workplace will prevent the spread of COVID-19. A business may fill out this template to fulfill the requirement, or may develop its own Safety Plan. This plan does not need to be submitted to a state agency for approval but must be retained on the premises of the business and must made available to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) or local health or safety authorities in the event of an inspection.

A. Physical Distancing. To ensure employees comply with physical distancing requirements, you agree that you will do the following:
Ensure 6 ft. distance between personnel, unless safety or core function of the work activity requires a shorter distance. Any time personnel are less than 6 ft. apart from one another, personnel must wear acceptable face coverings.
Tightly confined spaces will be occupied by only one individual at a time, unless all occupants are wearing face coverings. If occupied by more than one person, will keep occupancy under 50% of maximum capacity.
Post social distancing markers using tape or signs that denote 6 ft. of spacing in commonly used and other applicable areas on the site (e.g. clock in/out stations, health screening stations)
Limit in-person gatherings as much as possible and use tele- or video-conferencing whenever possible. Essential in-person gatherings (e.g. meetings) should be held in open, well-ventilated spaces with appropriate social distancing among participants.
Establish designated areas for pick-ups and deliveries, limiting contact to the extent possible.

A. Protective Equipment. To ensure employees comply with protective equipment requirements, you agree that you will do the following:
Employers must provide employees with an acceptable face covering at no-cost to the employee and have an adequate supply of coverings in case of replacement.
What quantity of face coverings – and any other PPE – will you need to procure to ensure that you always have a su cient supply on hand for employees and visitors? How will you procure these supplies?
Face coverings must be cleaned or replaced after use or when damaged or soiled, may not be shared, and should be properly stored or discarded.
What policy will you implement to ensure that PPE is appropriately cleaned, stored, and/or discarded?
Limit the sharing of objects and discourage touching of shared surfaces; or, when in contact with shared objects or frequently touched areas, wear gloves (trade-appropriate or medical); or, sanitize or wash hands before and after contact.

B. Hygiene and Cleaning. To ensure employees comply with hygiene and cleaning requirements, you agree that you will do the following:
Adhere to hygiene and sanitation requirements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH) and maintain cleaning logs on site that document date, time, and scope of cleaning.
Who will be responsible for maintaining a cleaning log? Where will the log be kept?
Provide and maintain hand hygiene stations for personnel, including handwashing with soap, water, and paper towels, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing 60% or more alcohol for areas where handwashing is not feasible.
Where on the work location will you provide employees with access to the appropriate hand hygiene and/or sanitizing products and how will you promote good hand hygiene?
Conduct regular cleaning and disinfection at least after every shift, daily, or more frequently as needed, and frequent cleaning and disinfection of shared objects (e.g. tools, machinery) and surfaces, as well as high transit areas, such as restrooms and common areas, must be completed.
What policies will you implement to ensure regular cleaning and disinfection of your worksite and any shared objects or materials, using products identified as effective against COVID-19?
C. Communication. To ensure the business and its employees comply with communication requirements, you agree that you will do the following:
Post signage throughout the site to remind personnel to adhere to proper hygiene, social distancing rules, appropriate use of PPE, and cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
Establish a communication plan for employees, visitors, and customers with a consistent means to provide updated information.
Maintain a continuous log of every person, including workers and visitors, who may have close contact with other individuals at the work site or area; excluding deliveries that are performed with appropriate PPE or through contactless means; excluding customers, who may be encouraged to provide contact information to be logged but are not mandated to do so.

Have a plan for cleaning, disinfection, and contact tracing in the event of a positive case.
In the case of an employee testing positive for COVID-19, how will you clean the applicable contaminated areas? What products identified as effective against COVID-19 will you need and how will you acquire them?
In the case of an employee testing positive for COVID-19, how will you trace close contacts in the workplace? How will you inform close contacts that they may have been exposed to COVID-19?

Hi All – The Officers of the Friends of the Warsaw Public Library would like you to know that unfortunately there will NOT be a Book Sale this year as we exercise caution during the unfolding of the current Pandemic. We are hoping to have a BBQ in the Fall and will determine if that can be done safely as the summer goes on. The Warsaw Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 14th has been cancelled due to the current health crisis.
All due dates have been extended through 6/30.
The book drop is closed. You may not return books to the library during this time. All due dates have been extended through 4/20, and if any fines accrue, they will be forgiven. Do not leave books outside the book drop, on the ground, or near the door.
After much deliberation, the board of trustees has made the difficult decision to temporarily close the Warsaw Public Library building to the public effective Tuesday, March 17th until further notice. While we recognize that libraries provide many vital services to the public, we also know that we are a gathering place and that runs counter to the concept of social distancing which is so important in the fight against the coronavirus and COVID-19. Even though we currently do not have any recognized positive cases locally, we will do our part to prevent transmission and protect our community.

Warsaw Public Library COVID-19 Update 3/16/2020
The library will be open from 10:00 am-8:00 pm Monday, March 16th. The Board of Trustees will meet Monday evening at 5:45 pm to assess the latest information and decide the best course of action for our patrons, staff and community. No overdue fines will be accrued during this time. Our public Wi-Fi (OWWL) is available for patrons at any time to access from their vehicle when parked close to the building. We recommend stocking up on library materials today. If you are not comfortable coming in, please call the library at 786-5650. We can bring your holds to the curb for you, or gather items in the library for you to have ready for pick up or curbside delivery. If you need to access a public computer, we will separate the distance between stations, and we have disinfectant wipes available for wiping down after use. We are discouraging congregating at the library, and asking patrons to limit their visit time in an effort to promote social distancing recommendations for everyone’s health and safety during this difficult time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
Warsaw Public Library COVID-19 Update 3/15/2020
We have decided to suspend all library programs through at least the end of March, when we will re-evaluate. This includes weekly storytimes, outreach, group meeting use and our author event with George Rollie Adams on March 31st.
As it stands right now, we will remain open for regular business and will continue to provide library services, with the exception of delivery between libraries, including holds.
We will also forgive any fines accrued during this period, and renew materials. The computer system may not automatically do this in all cases, but rest assured, we will help you and update your record so you are not penalized during this event.
We will monitor this fluid situation and update you as necessary.
Warsaw Public Library COVID-19 Update 3/14/2020
Starting Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Pioneer Library System (PLS) will suspend the option of placing holds in OWWL. This means neither library staff nor patrons will be able to order library materials from another member library to be delivered to Warsaw Public Library or any of the libraries in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, or Livingston County.
Additionally, PLS will suspend delivery services which will result in no movement of library materials between member libraries until further notice.
PLS will reevaluate this stoppage of service on Friday, April 3, 2020, with guidance from local and state government agencies.
This plan of action was made with the health and safety of our system staff, member libraries staff, and library communities as a top priority. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we respond to rapidly growing COVID-19 concerns.
At the current time, the Warsaw Public Library is not closed. Our operating hours will continue as scheduled. We will keep the community as updated as possible as we receive further information.
